Shamain Webster, Director

As a child raised by a "devout" Montessorian, I have had the wonderful opportunity to be raised around Montessori for most of my life. I remember spending Summer months helping my mother in the Montessori classroom. During the last few years of her life, I came by her side to help her run the school as the Asst. Director. During this time, my Montessori knowledge and understanding deepened and I began to truly appreciate what Montessori could do for a child. In 2006, after my mother passed away from a losing battle to Cancer, I took over the school as Director. I have been whole heartedly running it since, trying my absolute best to move forward with her personal standards for the school and striving for it to improve each day so that many more families and children may be blessed by the gift of Montessori!

I asked each of my teachers to share a little bit about them, their background and interests and why the love to teach. Here's a chance to get to know our staff a little better.

Celine Dinh, Primary Guide

My family migrated to France from Vietnam when I was very young. There, I received my education and completed my Associates in French. After moving to the United States, I discovered Montessori and decided to go to school to become Montessori certified, eventually receiving my AMS certification. I have been working in the Montessori environment for the last 10 years, 8 of them as a Certified Lead Teacher. I have been with New Beginnings for 5 years.

A little about me: I enjoy arts and crafts, meditation, reading, traveling, listening to music, shopping and working out.

I enjoy teaching because it's rewarding for me. As I am teaching, I am also educating myself. I also love it because I believe I can make an impact in a child's life. I can light up his mind and shape up his future.

Debi Day, Primary Classroom Asst.

I have been working at NBMS for a total of 9 years and had the opportunity to have my grand-daughter here for 2 1/2 of them. Teaching and working with children has always been my love since I was a child in Elementary school. I'd play school with my siblings and friends and was always the teacher! There is no greater reward than to watch your students flourish and grow. The look on a child's face when that light bulb goes off is priceless. It's rewarding to know that what you are trying to impart upon them has clicked. I enjoy the enthusiasm and natural curiosity they bring to the classroom. I can honestly say that I learn as much from them as they do from me. What other job in the world could be as rewarding as this one?

I enjoy arts and crafts, music, reading, jewelry making, drawing, painting, and writing poetry.

My educational background includes a Bachelor's of Science Degree with Duel Certification in Elementary School Education and Special Education with a minor in Art.

Kim Garey, Toddler Classroom Guide

I began my years at NBMS as a volunteer in 2006.  I was fortunate enough to work along side the late Ms. Huma Gul in the Primary Classroom.  It was during this experience, I realized the importance of the Montessori approach to learning.  Following this year, I was offered the opportunity to enroll in the AMI Assistant to Infancy training where I received my AMI Assistant to Infancy certification.  I began my years as an AMI certified toddler guide in the fall of 2007.

My educational background includes an AMI Assistant to Infancy training certification.  Also, attended the University of Maryland in Munich, Germany.

I enjoy spending spare time in church; with family taking walks in the park with the dog and playing frisbee, playing cards or board games, and catching a Texas Ranger game as often as time permits.  I also enjoy gardening, reading, and live music and theatre performances.    My interests, or I should say my goal, consuming most of my free time, is to further college education.

Teaching touches my heart.  Although, it is not without its challenges, the rewards far outweigh the everyday challenges.  It is a gift to be given the opportunity to guide and follow the needs of the children in my class.  Observing the individual growth of each child and their capacity to find beauty and simplicity in everyday life experiences is such a joy to behold.  This experience has enabled me to slow down, and be in the present, in mind, body and spirit.

Rebecca Delgado, Toddler Asst., Spanish Teacher

I love working with children because I like providing them the wisdom necessary to become successful life-long learners.

A little about me...my hobbies include oil painting, playing guitar and walking long distance. I love to learn more about the Bible and teach God's Word to children. I also would like to go to Mexico and do mission work!

Kendal Bivins, Volunteer

Kendal has been volunteering at New Beginnings for the past 2 years. Despite a mental handicap, Kendal has managed to live life to the fullest. She graduated from Life Skills program at Colleyville-Heritage High School when she was 22 years old.  She has also worked at a pre-school for about a year, at Colleyville City Hall for about a year, and at Biscuits Cafe for about 2 years. She has a real heart for children and  previously wrote letters to orphanages all around the world, offering to adopt a baby--a task that took her months to accomplish!
