The following admission information is for families interested in enrollment for 2010-2011 school year:
Inquiry: Contact Us for a Tour. This meeting will include information about our philosophy, a tour of our school and brief classroom observation. It is highly recommended to attend one of these meetings prior to submitting an application.
Application: Complete and send in with a $25 non-refundable application fee. The receipt of your application will be acknowledged either by letter or phone call.
Interview: The Director will call for a family interview with both parents and children. The interview lasts about 45 minutes and consists of a discussion about the school and the Montessori Philosophy, and an overview of the school Policy and Procedures. It will be held with the Director.
The toddler will stay with the parents during the interview process but may be invited to join the classroom for a short period of time if he/she feels comfortable.
The primary child ages 3 to 6 will be invited with or without the parents to join the classroom for a short period of time.
Acceptance: Acceptance of a child is based on several factors, one of which is a successful match of the family’s and the school’s educational goals for the child. Siblings of present qualifying students and children transferring from other Montessori schools are given priority. New applications are admitted for the remaining spaces, while maintaining gender and age balance within the classrooms. Evaluations, test scores or grades from the child’s recent schools, if applicable, may also play a part in the selection process. Each application is reviewed by the school. If approved, a non-refundable tuition deposit of $200 will be given to reserve the child's space.
Waiting pool: Applicants who have been accepted for all reasons other than space availability will be placed in our waiting pool. Families will be notified when a place becomes available.
